Few years ago when I was serving as a youth corper, I remember going to church one Monday morning during our 21 days prayer and fasting. After the service pastor called me.
When I got there, he said you might not know that people are watching you, but I’m telling you that a lot of people are watching you. What you’re putting on might be OK to you, but for the sake of those that are still growing in faith you need to be mindful of what you put on because you’re a minister.
I was putting on gown which wasn’t that short, it was on my knees but it was a bit tight.

What separates us from the rest of the world is our faith in Jesus Christ. And because of our faith in Jesus Christ we pattern our lives after him. A lot of people Judge us based on our life styles, and that’s why we are the Bible people read.
We are the Christ they see on earth. I have heard a lot of people say to a Christian, if this person is a Christian then it’s not worth it, I rather not give my life to Christ. Probably because they’ve seen such persons doing certain things they know that we preach against.
I once saw a short video clip of a woman who went on evangelizing with her group. They were supposed to meet at a particular location. When she got to her destination, the driver of the motorcycle told her that her money was 500 Naira and she insulted the man.
She used all sorts of unpleasant words on the man to the extent of even cursing him that he was going to die. He was just speechless and surprised at the woman’s behavior at the same time.

She ended up throwing 200 Naira at him and left. Few minutes later the other members of her team saw him and preached Christ to him. After talking to him they told him that they would love for him to meet their leader so she could pray with him since she was close by.

The man agreed, not quite long she came. Lo and behold it was the same woman who had finished his life with insult and curses. And the man said if this is your leader I have seen what the Christianity you preach is all about, I’m not interested in your Jesus. The woman cried and begged, she tried to explain but he started his motorcycle and drove off.
You are not supposed to explain to anyone that you’re a Christian. Your lifestyle should show it.
The word Christian (Christ Like) was first mentioned in Antioch in Acts 11:26. It was used to describe the early Christians. There was no need for explanations, the people knew they were followers of Christ and so they called them Christians.
What does your life style portray to the world? Does it show how beautiful Christianity is or does it paint a bad picture about Christianity? Can someone look at you and long to be a Christian, what does your life show people around you? Will they look at you and say if this is what Christianity is all about then I’m not interested? These are questions we should ask ourselves from time to time to keep ourselves in check.
We should regularly examine ourselves like Apostles Paul who puts his body under subjection and die daily to self.
But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. 1 Corinthians 9:27.
In Matthew 5:16, The Bible admonishes us to let our lights shine so that men will see our good works and glorify our father in heaven.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16
It means that we should let the light of our fruits shine so that people will come to the light of the fruits we bear. When we bear godly fruits people will know how beautiful Christianity is. When we live by Christ’s example we show the world how reliable and dependable our father in heaven is.
The fruit of our character will distinguish us from others.
Can someone look at the fruits you bear (your person, your character, your conversations, your response to situations etc) and fall in love with this great family to the extent of wanting to surrender his/her all to Jesus Christ like you did?
Conclusion.
Many times we unintentionally do certain things that make people wonder if we’re Christians or not without even knowing, either by our attitude, our response or reaction to certain things, and more. Be careful how you live your life, how you talk, how you dress, how you address situations, etc. Because you will be the only Bible some people will ever read. The world is seeing us and waiting for our manifestation.
For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. Romans 8:19
We need to represent Christ well, just like the early Church did.
