Anyone who wants to know God experientially must learn to obey him completely, so what does the bible said about obedience to God? Been obedient is not a choice if you must work in the power of God, it is a must.
You cannot enjoy the fullness of God’s blessing in your life or enjoy a close relationship with God without been obedient to his word.
Every struggle in life is as a result of a broken biblical principle. The devil cannot just throw things at you, but his arrows come through as a result of disobedience.
God’s protection on the obedient children
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand, but it shall not come nigh thee (psalm 91:7). This verse of scripture will only work for you if you’re obedient and abide by the rules of God and not setting your own standards for yourself. God’s protection will not be on disobedient children therefore, whatever the devil throws at them will penetrate into their lives.
If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land (Isaiah 1:19), The earth is the lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and they that dwell therein ( psalm 24:1).
The whole universe is in God’s hands, including the desires of your heart. And he has made everything that pertains to life available to us even before we needed them. But we still find ourselves struggling over them, why? I’ll tell you. The bible says: if ye be willing and obedient ye will eat the good of the land. (That is to say, if you are not willing and obedient you will not eat the good of the land).
And it shall come to pass, if thou shall hearken diligently unto the voice of the lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments which i command thee this day, that the lord thy God will set thee on high above all nation of the earth. Deuteronomy 28:1( That is, if you will not hearken unto the voice of lord your God, to observe to do all his commandments, the lord your God will set thee beneath and below all the nations of the earth), beneath sickness, lack, poverty, failure etc.
Imagine all these been above you. Hmmm. I can’t imagine. Every good thing has a price tag attached to it, nothing good come easily. I want you to take your time and meditate on these words.
Matthew 6:32-33: for all these things( wealth, contract, fame, appointments, cars, houses, marriage, and children etc.) do the gentiles seek, for your heavenly father know that you have need of these things, but seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.
(That is, if you don’t seek the kingdom of God first in obedience, all these things that you’re running after will never come to you irrespective of how long you’ve been running. Obedience to God always brings blessing and peace into our lives.
What is obedience
Obedience means being willing to comply with the command, orders, or instructions of those in authority. It also means the abstinence from what is prohibited, in compliance with a command or prohibition. The person in authority here is God.
The price to enjoy good success is obedience. When you abide by his instructions and observe to do according as it is written in his word, then every other thing falls in place for you, (Joshua 1:8). When you obey his instructions, even the things you didn’t ask for, he abundantly supplies.
Shortcuts
There’s no shortcut to good success. It is only God that gives good success and it comes as a result of obedience, (Joshua 1:8). Even when people go through the so called shortcuts to make wealth, it still doesn’t last.
All their effort to make wealth by themselves at all cost always ends them up in ruin. The Bible says a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous, (Proverb 13:22.) What then is the need for going through these shortcuts at the expense of your soul? Why not wait for God’s time in obedience?
BE SURE TO PIN ME FOR LATER!

Do you know what those people who go through shortcuts in disobedience to make themselves mighty face? They don’t have peace of mind, (Isaiah 48:22). They live in fear and are always restless but we are fearless because we know whom we’ve believed in, and so we are patient in obedience waiting for his own time.
Some of these people don’t even sleep at night but we sleep and snore the way we like because he (God) has given us assurance that our sleep shall be sweet and nothing will hurt us even in our sleep (Proverbs 3:24).
According as his divine power hath given us all things that pertain to life and godliness, (2 Peter 1:3). He made available all that you’ll ever need in life even before you were born, all you need to access this divine provision that has already been made available, is your obedience to his precepts, his word, his instruction, and his commands.
Seeking God first in obedience
Do you know what happens when you place God above all else, above everything that you have and will ever have? What happens when you choose to obey irrespective of your trials and tribulations, Your challenges and struggles in life?
When you place God above your needs and desires in obedience to his word, those desires, needs, and challenges obeys you, they move at your command because you also move at God’s command. Seeking God must not be done selfishly (only when you’re in need or when you want something from him).
You cannot serve God faithfully and sincerely and he lets you suffer, no! He is not like other gods. He does whatever he says he’ll do. And because we believe that he is a rewarder of those that diligently seek him and so we are confident that he will not let us suffer in our obedience.
reasons why you should obey God
As i earlier said, everything you need or will ever need in life is in God’s hands, (cars, houses, health, husband, wife, children, job, fame, power, anointing, name it). They are all in his hands.

The earth is the lords and the fullness thereof, the world and they that dwell therein, (psalm 24:1). Though all these things has been made available to you but you can only access them when you obey the instructions (the word) as regard these things. When you acknowledge the place of God as the first in your life else you’ll never access them.
No one wants to give gifts to a person who does not even regard him or listen to him. Certainly, he will not listen even after collecting the gifts because you can’t force someone to love you or have regard for you.
You want to be sure that the person you’re giving the gifts to will be able to use them wisely not just for his benefit alone but for others as well. You don’t want to give very precious gifts to wasters who will waste your effort and time.
It’s same with God. He must see that you’re obedient to his word. Not a partly obedience (as in obeying the part that seems pleasant to you) but a complete obedience and acknowledging his place as the first in your life.
No wonder he said: for all these things do the gentiles seek, for your heavenly father know that you have need of these things, but seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you, (Matthew 6:32-33).
Conclusion
Though been obedient might seem tough or difficult, but it is very easy when you love the one whom you’re obeying. It takes a heart of love to obey. Obedience is not something you do when you please or feel like. It is not to be done partly. But it’s a life time business whether you feel like or not because it truly pay to be obedient
If you must obey God, then you must obey him completely. No one will talk you into obeying God; you should learn to consciously obey God out of love not out of compulsion. If you want to see the glory of God in your life then obedience is not negotiable. Next time when you find it difficult to obey ask yourself this question: do i really love God?
