What Is the Word of God, and how/why is it powerful?
Introduction
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
Quick – The Word of God is alive, active, fast, timely, productive, not dead, nor barren, and it is energetic.
Powerful – The Word is capable of doing whatever God says, it has the capacity to perform. because it is potent and full of strength.
Sharper Than Any Two-edged Sword – The Word of God is accurate, precise, does not contradict itself, pure, true, does not lie, powerful.
This makes it able to penetrate through any situation at all, heal any disease, and do the impossible. It searches through the soul, and spirit, and joint, and the marrow because the word of God is spirit and life. John 6:33
It goes through the deepest part of nature, and discerns the heart of men because the words formed nature, man, and everything in the world.
The Power In The Word of God
The power in the Word of God is beyond description just as God Himself is beyond description. The word in God creates – Genesis 1, the word of God is life, it heals, sanctifies, purifies, transforms, destroys, kills and makes alive.
Despite how powerful the world of God is if you don’t believe in it, it will profit you nothing. Believing and Living by the word of God is the only way the word can work and have its full cause in your life.
The transforming power of the Word of God will only manifest when you truly believe that the word is able to transform you.
We see the transforming power of the Word of God in
Isaiah 1:18b… though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
Only the word of God is able to translate and transform a chronic sinner into a Saint. A drug addict to a believer.
A brother once shared a testimony of how he was a chain smoker who couldn’t go a day without finishing packets of cigarettes.
But when he encountered the word of God, the smell irritated him. The Word of God is powerful and beyond description.
The word mends, the word restores, the word makes whole, the word is first spiritual, before physical. It is the spirit in the word of God that gives effect to the letters. So until you encounter the Spirit, the letters won’t make sense to you or profit you.
Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. 2 Corinthians 3:6

It’s a reflection of God’s thoughts and purposes. It expresses God’s will and mind. It is God’s intention, thoughts, will, and our purpose for our lives.
The purpose of the Word of God
The purpose of the Word of God is to reveal the mind will of God to us. It guides, and show us the path to follow. It’s our instructor.
Without the Word, we won’t know how to live on earth, how to walk with God, how to please Him, how to do his will, and to know his will for us.
The word of God is the mirror where we picture our lives. (past, present, and future), and that reflects our true identity in Christ and opens us up to who we are in Christ.

The Word of God is a weapon, it’s creative, powerful, and most of all it never fails. You can securely rely on rely on God’s Word and be sure that you are standing on the right path.
In all of it’s power and might, if you don’t believe in it you won’t see or receive anything from it. It is the word that you receive, believe and run with that will produce for you.
In order words, your portion is determined by your level of faith. Everything is faith take able as long as it’s not contrary to the will of God.
