Definition of a fool
A pastor once defined a fool as one who does not know, and does not know that he does not know, and worse still he is not willing to know or learn.
A fool is one who lacks understanding, but thinks in his heart that he knows it all. He does not like to be corrected because he thinks he knows it all.
There are two types of a foolish man:
there is a foolish man that knows that he does not know yet refuses to learn, and there is also the foolish man who does not know that he does not know and he also refuses to learn.

The Foolish man is as empty as an empty container. You might mistake him for a wise person when he is quiet but the moment he opens his mouth his folly cannot hidden. the bible says in Proverbs 17:28 (ESV)
Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent.

What Does the Bible say about a foolish man.
The book of Psalms and Proverbs especially, and other Bible passages emphasizes on different occasions on how fools despise wisdom.
A Foolish man/woman is clomorous (they are very loud and noisy). Proverbs 9:13.
The Bible completely warns against dealing with fool, when you advise fools they look at you as though you don’t have anything to offer, fools despise wisdom. Proverbs 23:9 (GNT)

Advising a fool is a wasted effort, because as long as a fool is concerned, he knows it all. Even though he doesn’t know anything.
The Bible says the foolish man shall not stand in the presence of God – psalms 5:5. This is to say that a foolish man does not have a place with God.
In proverbs 29:4 the Bible says not only that foolishness itself is a sin, but that the thought of it is a sin.
