Verse of The Day
Amplified Bible (AMP) – Philippians 2:3 Do nothing from factional motives [through contentiousness, strife, selfishness, or for unworthy ends] or prompted by conceit and empty arrogance. Instead, in the true spirit of humility (lowliness of mind) let each regard the others as better than and superior to himself [thinking more highly of one another than you do of yourselves].

Reflection
There’s nothing done with selfish motives or conceit that stays through the test of time.
I like the way the Message Bible puts it; ” Don’t push or sweet-talk yourself to the front all by yourself (paraphrase).
Where there is conceit there’s arrogance and pride.
The Bible says in James 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
It is a selfless service that God rewards.
When you serve genuinely from your heart without minding who’s looking at you or not, or who will notice and bless you. But serving selflessly, not exalting yourself above others.
Then He will lift you so high. Even if you don’t want to be noticed he will make you, just like he did with Job, in Job 1:8 because he is proud of you.
He will take you to the front by Himself and there you will remain, when you serve with a sincere heart.
