Thoughts on Today’s Bible Verse

The Bible said it is the custom of some to forsake the gathering of the brethren. I have heard a lot of people say because of what pastors are doing they won’t go to church any longer, they’d rather stay at home and worship God.

But the truth is, God knew all of this before he said we shouldn’t forsake the gathering of the brethren. In fact Jesus said many false prophets will come.

And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. Matthew 24:11

You see that he told us already. Some also say because of what a fellow Christian did so they won’t go to church any more. All these is just the devil trying to stop us from gathering together in fellowship because he knows the power that these kinds of gathering generates.

Jesus said also Matthew 24:10, and 12:

And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.Matthew 24:10

And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. Matthew 24:12

There’s nothing happening now that should suprise you because the Bible already told us that these things would happen. So don’t let what a pastor or fellow Christian did stop you from going church or fellowship.

There are individual blessings and there collective blessings. The early Apostles (believers) were always gathered together in one accord.

And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Acts 2:46

The Holy Ghost came upon them when they were together in the upper room on the day of Pentecost.

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. Acts 2:1

And there appeared to them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat on each of them. Acts 2:3

And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:4

Don’t let anyone or the devil deceive you. The gathering of the brethren is more powerful than you think. Run your race with all humility, and Patience and don’t stop because of how someone else ran his or her own.
