Bible Verse of the Day -1 Peter 2:2

What Does 1 peter 2:2 Mean?

In 1 Peter 2:2, Apostle peter was simply telling us that rather than our selfish desires, our cravings for material things we should instead desire, long, pant, and crave for the pure word of God and not just that but drink that means continuing in it so that we can grow into the fullness ( completeness) of our salvation.

Just like we need food daily to sustain our physical body, so do we need the word of God daily to keep strengthening our spiritual muscles.

The word of God is the ”pure spiritual milk” that we are told to long for. Like the new born babies crave for milk we are to crave and long for the pure undiluted word of God so that we can grow to the fullness of God’s purpose concerning our lives .

What Is The Difference Between Milk and bone

In the bible, milk is usually used to refer to the basic Christian teachings. While meat is used to describe deeper, and more complex Christian teachings.

Reflection

The word of God is the light that brightens our parts. It is the map that directs us to our destination. It is our guide. When we look daily into the word of God and continue therein, we will not be moved about with every wind of doctrine.
