The Message Bible (MSG) – 2 Thessalonians 3:1 One more thing, friends: Pray for us. Pray that the Master’s Word will simply take off and race through the country to a ground-swell of response, just as it did among you. And pray that we’ll be rescued from these scoundrels who are trying to do us in. I’m finding that not all “believers” are believers. But the Master never lets us down. He’ll stick by you and protect you from evil.
Reflection
It is a good thing to pray for your leaders.
One thing a lot of people including some Christians don’t understand is that, leaders especially Christian leaders are also human beings.
When a man of God does something wrong, people are very quick to crucify him saying; “Why would a man of God do this or that “, forgetting that they are humans too.
Before the God, there’s a Man (man of God). That means he is a man (human), before a man of God. Every genuine man of God or pastor goes through series of battles and temptations every day.
The enemy is always fighting to make sure they fall, and that the Word fails in their hands.
While they are standing in prayer for us, our attackers are also attacking them. Therefore, it is important that we pray for our spiritual leaders, and leaders in general often.
Prayer
Dear Lord,
I pray for all spiritual leaders that serving truth and with all sincerity of heart, not agents of darkness that are wolves in sheep’s clothing.
I pray for wisdom, and strength. The Word will not fail in their hands, but it will blossom and produce fruits in multitudes.
Help them to teach the truth only at all times, and let the heavens over them remain open always.
I pray for leaders in general, teach them to always lead with sincerity and the fear of the LORD.
