Verse of the day

Amplified Bible (AMP) – 1 Peter 5:2 Tend (nurture, guard, guide, and fold) the flock of God that is [your responsibility], not by coercion or constraint, but willingly; not dishonorably motivated by the advantages and profits [belonging to the office], but eagerly and cheerfully;

Common English Bible (CEB) – 1 Peter 5:2 Like shepherds, tend the flock of God among you. Watch over it. Don’t shepherd because you must, but do it voluntarily for God. Don’t shepherd greedily, but do it eagerly.

English Standard Version (ESV) – 1 Peter 5:2 shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly;

Good News Translation (GNT) – 1 Peter 5:2 to be shepherds of the flock that God gave you and to take care of it willingly, as God wants you to, and not unwillingly. Do your work, not for mere pay, but from a real desire to serve.

The Message Bible (MSG) – 1 Peter 5:2 Here’s my concern: that you care for God’s flock with all the diligence of a shepherd. Not because you have to, but because you want to please God. Not calculating what you can get out of it, but acting spontaneously.

Reflection

As an ambassador of Christ on earth, you are to care for God’s flock. There are a lot of young Christians or baby Christians around your neighborhood. It is your duty as a shepherd for Christ to nurture these babies Christians until their feet becomes solid in the faith.

Not condemning them, but patiently guiding them till you see them stand firm, and are ready to stand on Their own.

You are not doing this because of what you will gain, but because you love God and God does not want any soul to perish.

And even if you don’t have baby Christians around your neighborhood, there are definitely people who haven’t given their lives to Christ yet.

Speak to them about Christ, share your testimonies concerning your faith, and win them over to Christ.

Nurture them until they can begin to nurture others. And God will be all out of you, and before you call He will answer.

Do the work of an evangelist. Caring for the flock of God is not a duty for pastors or evangelists alone, but it is a command for all believers. Mark 16:15

Prayer

Dear Lord,

I receive fresh grace to be all out for you, I receive grace to bring and nurture souls until they are strong in the faith.

Bless me so I can be a blessing to everyone of my converts. In the areas were they need assistance I should be able to help them in order to keep them strong.
